I followed the UPS man most of the way home from picking the kids up from school today. Am I the only one that always secretly hopes he will be bringing a box to my doorstep instead of those darned neighbors who get a package like twice a week? I even made up a little song asking Mr. UPS man to bring me a package. What can I say, I was just in that kind of mood. Torri, who happened to be sitting beside me, wasn’t amused though. Killjoy.
Yeah so, as I fully expected him to, he turned onto our cul-de-sac. But then, instead of veering left, he veered right. All the way into our driveway! I was so excited to be getting a box that I didn’t mind the fact that he blocked me from entering my own garage.
I couldn’t imagine what he might be bringing though. Nobody in my house is celebrating a birthday anytime soon. The holidays are over. I haven’t ordered anything recently. Oh, the suspense.
As soon as I got my hands on the package I ripped into it. It was an Amazon box. Inside of it was a book that didn’t look even the least bit familiar.
The invoice gave the return address of a certain Disney Moms Panelist. There was a note too. Turns out the book was a gift from yet another of my talented and amazing friends (betcha didn’t know I had so many didya), Erin F. from NY. It seems that she noticed a post on my blog that may or may not have outted me as a total sugar phene and she thought this little diddy would be a good read for me. Oh, and if you haven’t seen aforementioned post then I completely deny its existence.
It seems Ms. Erin must have had this book sent via super sonic overnight mail or something seeing as how I just posted the confession in question yesterday morning.
How absolutely sweet of her was it to do that? And she must have some mad physic skills that I’m unaware of because last night, when I posted my plead for help with a book, her sweet little gift was already well on its way to my door.
Jeff and I often times complain of our lack of friends. I’m so thankful for the Moms Panel opportunity because it has afforded me with a small circle of new friends who’ve become very dear to me in a short amount of time.
I’m so slipping this little treat into my carryon. Oh, and even better! I have some free drink coupons from the airline. What better time to sip a nice little glass of Chardonnay (even the airplane variety – I don’t fly alone often) than while I’m on my way to the Disney with a fun new read in hand!
Thanks Erin. You rock.

OK: Same birthdays, desert dwellers AND we enjoy the delivery of packages!
Also, when I went shopping yesterday, and when I went to pick my lettuce, I totally thought of you, and picked a head of green leaf from the way bottom. Hopefully guaranteeing clean, un-dropped lettuce! ;)
I’m a desert rat in Southern AZ. YOU?
