Listen, I get enormously frustrated with people that want to stick their heads in the sand and label everyone a germaphobe. Not only should you be concerned about the everyday things that might get you sick, it seems every day both old and new bugs are out their threatening you and your family. In China an HFMD epidemic has already killed over 28 children. No one should be embarrashed about being germaware. Check out this site, you may find it interesting: www.germaware.com

Oh, I try so hard not to think about the dust mites. There was a time I thought my daughter might be allergic to dust, so I was looking into getting some of those hypo-allergenic pillow covers. But I never did. Because I was so afraid I would pull up a web page featuring a big dust mite close up. Then I'd have that image permanently burned into my brain. And there would be nothing that could ever take it away.

Talk about your phobia about germs etc.
I read kristenkj's comment and that reminded me that if, by chance, my TV channel lands on Orpah even for a few seconds before I can change it, I have to wash the TV screen to get the grit off. Then I'm nausous for hours afterward. OOOH Gross!

I am right there with you! I keep a huge pump bottle of hand sanitizer in my car just for use after pumping gas...mainly because I tend to go to Starbucks afterward. I just couldn't stand the thought of pumping gas and then eating my banana nut loaf! ewww.

And money! My mom used to work at a bank. She would come home telling the grossest stories...how women would keep their money between their "girls" and pull it out and it would be all wet...let's all say a collective ewwwwwww!

I saw that video about the lemon wedges about a month ago and have since STOPPED having any kind of fruit in my drinks.

I never thought about the library books, but I never touch the mags at the doctor's office!!

Geez...I feel so much better about it all now! :)

I can barely enjoy library books any more. I have to rub them off AND then hold them with tissues protecting my hands from the dreaded book jacket. I can just feel the filth on my hands. I've been buying more books lately. Not a good cost-savings, I know.

Eeewww! I think it's time to buy new pillows.

Oh.my.goodness. Darcie (got the spelling right this time), we are cut from the same cloth. I ALWAYS use purell after the gas station...the thought of all those germs being all over my steering wheel, keys, stereo knobs, door handles, etc. -- ew. I watched something like this on oprah once, and I immediately went through the kids' things and threw out a bunch of old stuffed animals, and washed the ones that they couldn't bear to part with. And I bought new pillows. That show freaked me out. I'll have to watch the MSN one that you're talking about. There is nothing like scare tactics to make me get my rear in gear and do a little more cleaning!
