Two Down, One to Go

July 8, 2008 · 14 comments

I’ve been known to complain about her morning funk.

Sometimes I swear that if I see the phone at her ear one more time I’m just gonna, well, I don’t know but it won’t be pretty.

The sight of her dirty clothes on the bathroom floor tests my patience to no end.

But oh how I miss this teenage girl when she’s gone.

I miss her goofy laugh.  Her off the wall comments.  Her hugs.

Today when I picked her up at the airport, my heart skipped inside my chest.

She’s home.  And not a moment too soon.

My daughter is just three, but I can say all of the same things. (She calls people on speed dial. Crazy, I know.) She sometimes goes to her grandparents house for a day or two, and I am so happy when she returns. Lovely site, by the way.

I know how you feel, but I guess on a smaller scale! So glad she’s home. :)

She’s gorgeous, and looks so much like you. Glad she is home, safe and sound. Are you all together now?

She’s beautiful Darcie! It’s amazing how those little things add up. When you step back, though, you can see that it’s all about perspective. I miss my teenagers like crazy in July. But in October when I’m up to my neck in papers and Science Fair projects, it’s a different story. Enjoy these next few years. They really fly by!

SO many people complain about their teenagers, it so fun to read something positive!

And yes, I hate to say things that people have already said, but this bears repeating: She is beautiful! Like her Mama…

I love her smile. I am always so glad when they are all home in Vail with Mom and Jeff.

hey! Thanks for commenting on my blog :)
My almost 2-year old is celebrating her birthday August 22nd.
I guess August 2006 was a popular month for having babies because I have several bloggy friends (and real life friends) who have babies that will be 2 in August!

I am headed over to your other post to enter the contest!! I like having a little work to do- somehow it feels like you have a better chance to win since so many people are SO lazy :)

So glad she’s home safe and sound.

That’s the way I feel about my kids too even though they are grown and gone.
