Saturday was the big day.  The big shopping day that is.  I have to admit to being slightly neurotic the day before.  I spent lots of time going over your comments about where to go and what to buy.  I visited more online retail sites than I care to admit to.  I even compiled a list detailing my goals.

Did I mention I’m not a great shopper?

Give me a wad of cash to spend and tell me I have to spend it on clothes for myself (not clothes for my family which would be easy or stuff for my house which would be even easier, um hello, Z Gallerie calling)  and I freeze.  I don’t know what it is about buying myself clothes that throws me into a tizzy but it totally does.  I debate every detail, from how it contains my blueberry (muffin top) to how big a dent it’ll put in my budget.  There is something wrong with me.  Really and truly, there is.

All that said though, I think I came away pretty good.

Here’s where I shopped: Gap, Forever 21, a little shop in the mall called Mocha (it may be a regional thing, I’m not sure), Ann Taylor, Old Navy, and Buckle (thanks Soliloquy).

And here’s some of what I got.  I’ll have to get more pictures of the other stuff later.

 And in case you’re wondering…
Coral Shirt – 36.00 Ann Taylor
Jeans – 118.00 Lucky Brand
Cute little wooden beaded bracelet – 4.80 Forever 21
Green and White layered tanks 7.50 each Old Navy
Green and White Skirt - Forever 21 21.80 (isn’t that ironic)
The orange skirt – Gap 11.99
Brown and White layered camis – 7.50 each Old Navy
Jeans – 138.00 Lucky Brand
Black and White top – Ann Taylor 29.99

I also got THE MOST ADORABLE little black dress (I heard I needed one) at Mocha.  I didn’t get a picture but I am going to have to because it was, HANDS DOWN, my favorite buy.  And I got a second of the Old Navy skirts (cobalt blue) because I loved the orange one so much.  Get this though, I had to go to a second Gap because the first didn’t have any more.  Same skirt, different color.  One was 12 bucks, the other 22.  I had a hard time justifying spending more on the same exact skirt but I loved it so my hands were tied.  I also got a really bright orange handbag (to go with my green outfit) and a cute black everyday sundress at Target.  Oh, and a straw hat.  I’ve always wanted one.  It looks pretty cute with the sundress.

Okay, so I still have about one-fifth of my original budget left to get some more stuff.  But, as for my purchases so far, whatdya think?  Be gentle on me kay?  I’m fragile when it comes to shopping…

Great stuff and it looks so cute on you. I just got $600 bucks from my hubby for our 6th anniversary to spend on myself. I won’t be able to sleep tonight thinking about how I’m gonna spend it. Clothes are hard for me too….I always want more bang for my buck. Everything you bought though, I would definitely buy for myself. Thanks for the ideas.

You are adorable. And I’m not seeing any blueberry, either. :)

LOVE the orange skirt. LOVE. And the green one. I can’t believe what a bargain it was at the Gap. I might have to pay them a visit myself.

So, yeah. You did an incredible job. You look pulled-together and very age-appropriate if you ask me. Can you come shopping with me now and tell me what I need to buy?

OMG! Good finds – excellent work. I am LOVING that black and white top. Don’t think I can pull off the halter, so I’m living vicariously here. I remember when I was wedding gown shopping i had marked all these photos of gowns with halter tops…then I went to my first store and started trying them on. Suffice it to say that all the work I had done went out the window. Made my shoulders look 3 times wider. Anyway, you are HOT, dude. All the outfits are fab.

For a girl who claims that she doesn’t know how to shop, you sure look like you do! Heck, you even bought accessories! I think you did terrific — I especially love the skirts and tank tops. Really cute.

We’ll no longer be listening to the “I don’t know how to shop” bit from you. Great job! I love the skirts! Don’t you love the Lucky jeans? They are my favorites. And very impressive wearing of the tank/halter tops. My arms are envious.

You did a really nice job Darcie! Isn’t it fun to wear new clothes? I just love to accessorize also; it just pulls an outfit together so nicely. I have a tendency on my shopping excursions to go for the high dollar items and so end up with a few expensive outfits and no day to day casual; I mean, do I really wanna wear that designer white sundress scooping dog crap?
you little tasmanian devil you!

Girl! You did GOOD. And it helps that you’re SO stinkin’ cute!!!! I love Lucky jeans. NICE! And that black and white halter. I NEED ONE. Cracking me up with the skirt. I think it’s the blue one that I blogged about and returned. It looks ADORABLE on you. Looked like crap on me.

You did great! The styles and the colors look fabulous on you! Oh and weren’t you complaining about your mom body a few posts back? I’ve got one thing to say about that, what the hell ever!!!! You are in great shape and have a beautiful figure! You don’t even look like you’ve had kids! So I don’t ever want to hear such nonsense again! ;)

I love it all. The Lucky jeans are a great choice. My favorite outfit though, hands down, is the green tank top and skirt combo. You are rockin’ that style, girl! Everything looks great. Stacy and Clinton would totally approve. :o)

You look fantastic as always! I think you did a great job. But of course I thought you looked great before.

The fact that you went to the Buckle cracks me up though. Did I ever tell you I worked there in college? Only for a minute or two – commissioned sales is SO not for me. But I feel way too old and fuddy to set foot in there now! Good for you!
