I’m reading Kate Wilhelm right now, I love a good murder-mystery-smart story…I also enjoy Patricia Cornwell and the Scarpetta stories!

Oh, how weird…I have been meaning to do a post asking this exact same thing! I have fallen so behind in reading, and I really need to begin reading on a regular basis again. But I don’t even know what is out there that is a MUST read. So I’ll check back and see what everyone shares in the comments, and maybe I’ll still do my own post later…

Girlsby sounds very interesting. Ill have to check it out. I have been reading a James Patterson Series about the Womens Murder Club. My book group read the first one and now I cant stop reading them. It has really short chapters, so if anyone interrupts you can still finish the chapters!

After being sick for 5 (yes, 5) days, I read Love The One You’re With by Emily Giffin. A great read but a story that resonates with every woman for sure. (Note: I’d also recommend her other three books: Something Borrowed, Something Blue and Baby Proof). I also listened to one book on CD, Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella and am in the midst of a second, The Other Woman by Jane Green. All recommended. They’re good, they’re light and the definition of summer reads.

Hmmm. Let’s see, recently I’ve read Water for Elephants (excellent), The Thirteenth Tale (really good), For Women Only: What Women Need to Know About the Secret Lives of Men (by far, the best book on marriage I have ever read), and The Shack (extremely thought-provoking). I also really enjoyed the Kite Runner, although found it painful to read at points.
I’m currently reading The Autobiography of Henry VIII, which I realize makes me sound like the dullest person on earth, but I’m enjoying it so far. :)
Have you tried Paperback Swap? I’m addicted to it. It’s a great way to get new books for free. All the books I’ve listed above came to me through Paperback Swap.

I just started reading Anybody Out there by Marion Keyes. I am only a few pages in. I love book recommendations, so thanks! Also, this makes me think of that movie Stuck On You, silly, but still gives perspective into this life.

I am afraid I have a stack of parenting books to read/re-read right now. I have been reading the Aristocats to my middle son and listening to Magic Treehouse books from my oldest son. The youngest is into anything with animals. Hmm..
Maybe I need a break and need to read something for adults. I may steal some ideas from the comments you receive.

I’ve been reading tons since the summer started! The most recent was the Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini and it was very intense and moving. Very good book.
Before that I read Wicked by Gregory Maguire. That was interesting but not as good as all the hype in my opinion. I also read the last 3 Harry Potter books last month and they were fun. I hadn’t read one since I was pregnant with my 5 year old. I can’t wait for the movies to come out.
Let’s see, I’ve been reading a Christian parenting book and a trying to decide which book to start next. I scored big at a garage sale and got several dozen books for a .25 each! One being Water for Elephants and since it was recommended here, I think that is the one.

What would be worse than 2 sisters cojoined would be a brother and a sister. What a trip to the bathroom that would be. Also showers etc. etc.

I just finished reading Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane. Wow is all I can say. Creepy and full of plot twists.

I just finished Sisters by Danielle Steel. Great summer read, and quick too.
Haven’t been reading much though…..although your book about the twins sounds really interesting!

I just finished A Convenient Groom by Denise Hunter. It was pretty good. My favorite book of the summer is Providence by Chris Coppernoll, though. I also liked My Hands Came Away Red by Lisa McKay.

I’m reading a book called Hot Flashes and Cold Cream by Diann Hunt.
IT’s about a lady who’s going through menopause…Doesn’t that sound up-lifting? It’s actually funny. A total no brainer book…which I need from time to time!

I enjoyed Change of Heart too, and I’ve read a bunch of the Monk books. (Love that show)
I am meaning to pick up Kite Runner and Remember Me?
I am avoiding the Twilight series, though I keep hearing rave reviews. Sounds too weird for me.
Currently trying to read The Strong Willed Child, but can’t seem to find the time. I read in fits and spurts.

I recently read The Thirteenth Tale and enjoyed it a lot. I also liked The Monsters of Templeton, great book. I liked Wicked but stalled out through the middle of it, though I did finish it. I liked Son of a Witch (the 2nd book) better.
I love the Harry Potter books! I love the Twilight series of books, though I have to say, I think Twilight is the best out of all of them. I also recently read The Host (also by Stephenie Meyer) and liked that too. It’s fun because it’s set in the Arizona desert, you don’t find that much.
I’m on Goodreads.com (there’s a link on my blog that shows recent books I’ve read) – you should check it out! You can see what your friends are reading and what they thought about the books they have read. I think the one you’re reading right now sounds really interesting.

I just finished Beautiful Boy. It is hard to read at times, but very eye opening. For a fun and heart warming read, try The Lottery. I loved it!
