Did I mention that I’m going to see Taylor Hicks tomorrow?
As in Taylor Hicks of American Idol fame.
Yeah. That Taylor Hicks.
We go way back.
Either that or I won passes on the radio. Who am I to split hairs though?
He’s in town starring in the Broadway version of Grease. Our local radio station scored an acoustic concert with him. He’s coming to play for me an intimate gathering before he gets all transformed into Teen Angel.
I’ll be one of maybe twenty-ish guests in attendance.
With so few people in the room he’ll have no choice but to make eye contact with each and every one of us don’t you think?
And when my turn comes I’m going to send him telepathic vibes to give me one of those soul patrol “owwwww’s” he made famous during his stint on AI.
I love it when he does that.
I also hope to get pictures but I’m not sure if they’re going to allow me to take a camera inside the studio.
If so, you all will be the first to know.

I’m jealous! I keep trying to win tickets to Studio C whenever they give tickets away…but no such luck. I hope they let you take pictures!

Lucky, lucky you!!! Especially in such a small group. I’m sure Taylor will make every effort to give some time to each of you. And an acoustic concert, how glorious! Being anywhere near Taylor Hicks is an exciting and thrilling experience. If you do make eye contact, be prepared to lose all brain function! lol Those eyes will make you forget how to breathe…or even stand up! Enjoy yourself, and savor every second you’re in the same room with him. You lucky, lucky person you! Am I jealous?? You betcha. So much so I’ve turned green!
BTW Heather — get to know Taylor Hicks. You’ll be blown away! There’s no one like him around today — sweet, gorgeous, generous…and TALENTED!!!! You won’t be sorry!

First of all, love, love, LOVE American Idol. My husband (who has a degree in and huge talent for anything music) and I watch the show religiously. Mostly we make fun but we also hand out merits where they are due.
I have to admit Taylor Hicks was not our favorite Idol. He was entertaining to watch but I’m just not sure he’s got that star quality. Time will tell.
Sidenote: Did you see the segment on Regis and Kelly where they played matchmaker for him? I felt it was a bit awkward.
