81: the digital number displayed on my thermostat even as I type this at 9:41 pm.
102: the forecasted high for tomorrow.
2: the number of air conditioning units our home is equipped with.
0: the number of air conditioning units currently functioning.
You know what all those numbers add up to?
One.
Yes. One.
One very overheated desert-dwelling Mama who may just have to kick some serious butt if those AC guys try to pull any crap.
For real.

I feel your pain! We have no working A/C either! Supposed to be in the triple digits this weekend.
POOL! Or indoor mall or movie theater.
I give you full permission to kick butt. It’s been unseasonably cool up here lately (THANK YOU WEATHER), but I’d still die without the AC.
Oh NO!!! I am so sorry, that’s awful! We have 2 ACs also yet it seems like they never keep up – and it’s not nearly as hot here as it is there. Thankfully you just have a dry heat so it should all be good, right? ha,ha
oh no that’s awful!
Looks like someone needs to take a trip to Washington…
Yuck! I hope it is quickly fixed. If not, I would demand a night in a hotel, where can you can make it as cold as you want without worrying about the electric bill.
Sympathy from a New Mexico mama!
Don’t put up with crap from the repairmen, but also offer them iced tea or lemonade. I’m sure they’re up to their eyeballs in cranky moms right now!
Uh-oh. Book the hotel room! Even up here in Minnesota I’m thankful for my A/C today.
Can’t even imagine. At least you don’t have Florida humidity to go along with it! I say you get in the car and drive to the mall!
Not good! I hope both units are fixed by now! We had issues here a few months ago. We were very thankful that it hit before the 100* temps were here!
Man…I sure hope it’s fixed by now! Yikes.
I’m on a Sunday Afternoon blog reading marathon! I’m late….and I am hoping that your are sitting in A/C luxury right now.
WOW… that’s not good. I live in the desert also and I remember a summer like that… I was NOT a nice person…
Two AC’s? Never heard such a thing. Up here in Idaho we sweat it out (at least I do, most head to the local Wal-mart *ew*). Of course, 74 is considered warm. I would never complain though. Its July and its been raining. Two days rain, five days hot. Love it!
That sounds just utterly miserable! We’ve been lucky to have nice cool weather for the summer. I don’t miss the sticky horrid heat.
