Thee ol’ blog has been a tad Jayce heavy lately. After what we went through one month and one day ago you can’t really blame me can you?
I can assure you, though, that big sissies haven’t been neglected. I’m every bit as thankful for their precious existance(s) as I am for Jayce’s.
And just to prove it, I’m going to brag on Torri for a moment. Because she totally deserves it. And not only because she babysat five (yes, onetwothreefourfive!) children the other night so that Ms. Crazy Boys Becca and I could double date with our husbands (which, btw, you can read about here). I mean, yes. That was impressive. But what’s more impressive is that she has taken to running on the cross country team at school.
Yep. For reals.
She does not come from running stock my friends. Well, that’s not exactly true I guess. Back in the day (and by the day I mean elementary school) I knew my way around a track meet. They called me Little Miss Blue Ribbon. But that was when I was, I dunno, like seven or something. And it was the 50 yard dash. Yippee! But long distance running? Not in my blood. Or Torri’s. But she’s doing it. AND managing to keep up straight A’s. AND getting home at 6:30 each night and finishing her chores. Every last one.
Impressive, no?
I’m so proud of her.
I think it’s awesome when my kids put their minds to something and are able to accomplish that which even I won’t can’t do.
She’s already done more 5K’s than me. How cool is that?
So, if you’ll excuse me…I’ve got some catching up to train for. Can’t have her beating me now can we? ;)
