Did you miss me?  I missed you.

You’re wanting to know what “stuff” I had going on last week, aren’t you?  Why I didn’t post for a week.

Fine.  Twist my arm.  I’ll tell you.

It had a little something to do with my rocket scientist husband.  He’s decided to build an even more impressive resume by adding not one, but two Masters degrees to it.  So he was up in Phoenix for the week taking an orientation for the dual degree online Masters program he’s starting this very week.

Hot shot.

I, on the other hand, was here at home, working my own patootie off.  On what, you ask?  Oh, just a little project I’ve got going.  Namely: a novel.  My novel.  Or manuscript, in its current form.

I had to choose between working on it or blogging and I chose my manuscript.  Hopefully I will have an announcement about that soon.  I’m just going to make you suffer through the curiosity in the meantime.

I will tell you that Thursday was a good day for me on all counts though.  Three fabulous things happened that day:

1. My hunky husband came home.
2. I finished my manuscript revisions.
3. When my hunky husband came home he brought with him a new wedding ring.  To replace the one I lost in December.  And the bomb-blingity makes me happy. :)

Pretty tough to beat a day like that, no?

Full disclosure here though: the week hasn’t been all good.

Because on Saturday the Cardinals blew their chances at taking another spin in the Super Bowl. {insert sorry consolation prize sound effect here}.  That, in spite of the rambunctious cheering squad they had based right here in my living room.

I thought that was bad enough.  But then. Then?

I broke out in a serious rash.  A rash to rival all rashes.  All red and bumpy.  And itchy.  OH the itchy.

And like Goldilocks sleeping in baby bear’s bed–it’s still here.

I’m at a loss when it comes to figuring out the origin of this rash of mine.  It encompasses most of my trunk {boobs excluded} and both legs — front and back.  I have no idea.  We’ve not changed soaps or lotions or anything like that.  I don’t think I have a virus.

The only change I’ve had in my diet is the addition of Acai berry juice.  I’m thinking maybe that’s the culprit?  If so, it’d be the only allergy I have to food of any sort.  As far as I know at least.

Are any of you allergic to the antioxidant powerhouse that is the Acai berry?  I’m curious.

Yeah, so not all good.  But the good definitely outweighed the bad.

And that’s saying nothing of what is soon to come.

This week, for instance, I’m taking my two oldest girls to go see Legally Blonde the musical.  It’ll be here in Tucson this week and if you’re local and interested in going you should click on the Broadway in Tucson link over there in my sidebar.

What else?  Hmmm….it seems like there was something else.

Oh yeah.

Just under three weeks from now I’ll be headed to Nashville to hang with a select few of my favorite bloggers {not to mention Harry Connick Jr, hello} at Blissdom.

Look out music city.

As for the rest of 2010?  It’s looking mighty bright friends.

Mighty bright indeed.

So tell me.  What are you looking forward to on the horizon?

Darcie! You were seriously missed. Can we get a photo of the new bling? (Being a bling lover myself, I’d love to see your new one).

Sorry to hear about the Cardinals. The Vikes won but we have been here before so I’m not crossing my fingers just yet.

Glad you’re back. Can’t wait for more on the manuscript.

Welcome back! Sorry about the Cardinals, that was a tough one! Our Patriots got out last week, and Steelers never made the playoffs…so now who to root for???
Hah, as if that was all we have to worry about…

Sounds like a good week! So happy for you on the manuscript front…good luck with that and I can’t wait to hear some good news in the future! Fingers crossed.

And well, you know what I am looking forward to in 2010 {wink, wink}!

Grams on January 18th, 2010 at 2:11 pm #

Is this the same rash you were telling me about a few weeks ago? It could well be the juice so lay off of it for a week or so and swee if it clears up. Your favorite Grams

Becca on January 18th, 2010 at 6:37 pm #

oh i am excited about your novel!!

Julie From Inmates on January 18th, 2010 at 7:06 pm #

So first of all. Pictures of the new bling would be nice. Thank you. Is hubby truly a rocket scientist? I know you’ve made reference to the whole rocket scientist thing, but I guess I just thought that was a joke. I’ve never known a rocket scientist, so if he truly is a rocket sceintist, that is really cool.

Next, congrats on the novel. I can’t wait to read it. I’m sure it will be just awesome! Congrats to you because I hear it is not easy to get yourself published and all.

And lastly, I know nothing of the acai berry or whatever its called. Hopefully you will find the origin of your discomfort soon.

I’m not real sure how my comments end up being so long. I come from a long line of loud, so I guess it stands to reason. Oh, and welcome back! I missed you here at the Spot.

I’ll get the limo ready and champagne on ice!

Woohoo to Rocket Man!!

Google acai berry rash. It does cause a rash in some people. I would stop it for a few days and see if it goes away. Try some spray Benadryl!

Hey, I missed you too, and am glad you are back. As if you and Jeff don’t have enough to do and he goes for two Masters. Crazy stuff. What a tease, bling shot please…hey, we could probably come up with “Bling Shot” for our next game. Anyway, you might want to lay off Acai but you might also want to try a Dr. Don’t want to ruin your trip to Nashville do you.? And this novel, I expect one in NY so I can pass it around the east coast for you. Good luck…glad you are back.

Funkidivagirl on January 20th, 2010 at 10:26 am #

Yes; post a photo of the ring! We want to see the bling! And congratulations on the manuscript being finished….you are a woman of many talents. And yet, you still manage to be a wife. ;-)

Julie From Inmates on January 26th, 2010 at 5:19 pm #

So, I just read over at Becca’s place that she previewed your manuscript. If you need another volunteer reader, I’m in!!! =)
