There’s been a constant chorus of nose blowing in our house.
And coughing. Hacking up lungs and whatnot.
Nose-blowing and coughing and lungs. Intermittently.
For days. And days.
It hit me hard last week.
Unexpectedly.
Which explains my unannounced absence.
I would have loved to have posted. But I was laid up on the couch with a fever (101.5 thankyouverymuch)–convinced I had pneumonia (which I or may not have used as a guilt trip against my husband so I’m unwilling to admit now that maybe I didn’t actually have pneumonia. Because I did. Totally pneumonia. That just so happened to go away on its own).
Movingrightalong.
Things have taken a turn for the better.
There was a date at the Cheesecake Factory.
A trip to the movies with my girls to see Dear John.
And a whole lotta sitting by the fire, reading. As the rain fell down, down, down.
The Cheesecake Factory didn’t do much for me. (I think our locally owned restaurants have spoiled me forever).
The movie was quite good, in a chick flick, sappy sort of way.
And I’ll let you know about the book when I finish it.
But don’t let me do all the talking.
Did you see any good movies this weekend? Read any good books? Try any new recipes? Do tell.

When did we get a Cheesecake Factory?
And I ate there too this weekend, and you’re right, I’m over them. Pricey and just all right.
With that said, I am so glad y’all are on the mend!
Just finished “The Help” when you do get your copy from the library I’d love to hear your thoughts…until then I’ll keep mine to myself. Didn’t try any new recipes, but I am so DONE with winter foods…can’t wait for summery things: smoothies and grilled stuff, and popsicles…
SO glad that you’re finally feeling better!!
Percy Jackson and the Olympians… My official thoughts? 9 year-old gave it a thumbs up, Mom was scared a few times. And Mommy doesn’t like scary movies ;/
I used to love Cheesecake Factory, and then I discovered a plethora of locally owned restaurants with AMAZING desserts… and yes, now the Cheesecake Factory is so overrated.
I’m glad you’re feeling better!
Glad youre feeling better! We’ve had a whole lotta the same around here – I feel like I’ve been sick forever!!
My granddaughter had that nasty cough, glad both of you are better.
Uneventful weekend here. We rented The Time Travelers Wife, it was ok.
I haven’t seen Dear John, but I did read the book and liked it. Read The Wedding, also by N. Sparks recently and really liked that one, guess it’s because this year will mark 30 years for us as well.
Recently discovered Mary Kay Andrews books, read Savannah Blues and Savannah Breeze, along with Hissy Fit and Deep Dish. All recommended easy reading.
We actually went on a date Saturday night and saw Shutter Island. It was good. And Geoff & I started doing the Love Dare book from the movie Fireproof. Have you heard of it?
I’m glad you’re doing better. I was wondering about you.
I have to admit I still like the Cheesecake Factory.
I saw that movie a couple of weeks ago. I’m on the wait list at the library for the book. I was not thrilled with the movie. I am hoping the book fills in some gaps.
Our baby girl turned 2 this weekend, so we had a party for her. I did very little reading because I was tired whenever I had time to sit down.
Glad you are feeling better.
3 of us have sinus infections this week, so we honking and blowing around here. Glad you are feeling better. No movies here this weekend, but did take the kids to a local kids museum for some fun. It was great, except for the 15 minutes that my 5 yo son decided to get lost – whew that was scary!
I saw a great play, “Brownie Points,” with my son; we both enjoyed it very much. And I went to a children’s writer’s conference for 2 days. That was both informative and overwhelming.
I’m glad to hear that you are doing better!
I can’t wait to hear about the book! I’m reading “The Happiness Project” (ho-hum so far, to be honest) and “Discipline Without Distress (some good concepts in there)…but what I am REALLY excited to read is a novel that I just picked up from the library yesterday. It’s called “The Woman who Attracted Money.” I’ve heard great things about it!
