Weekend Snapshots

Good Monday morning, friends.  How was your weekend?  Ours had some ups and downs.  Mostly ups, though.  The down was a doozie: an expensive speeding ticket (not mine, ahem).  While I didn’t capture that one with Instagram, I did manage a few other snapshots of the moments that came to pass.

Jeff had the day off on Friday.  We ran errands (read: shopped for groceries) in town.  Knowing that we would be enjoying dinner out later that night we opted not to stop for lunch but instead to head to Barnes and Noble to take advantage of a BOGO Starbucks coupon (combined with a gifted Starbucks card – Score!).  While we were there, my Mister bought me a book that I’ve been wishing for.

En route home we happened upon an officer of the motorcycle variety, who just so happened to have his radar aimed in the right direction.  Or wrong, depending on who you asked.  Dinner out that night was at our hands-down favorite: Blanco.  Fresh and flavorful Sonoran Mexican food at its finest right there, folks.

And then, of course, the obligatory Saturday morning calorie walk-off.

Saturday was prom.  Torri spent the entire morning preparing.  Oh!  And, just when I thought I was obsolete, she even allowed me to do her make-up.  No pressure.

Not to go all Miss America on you or anything, but for reals, isn’t she lovely?

So…how was your weekend?

I had a really good weekend, tiring but oh so inspiring. I have so many things I want to share with ine and all but the most important one is to stay in the word and prayer. It makes the day go better, love ya, grams

Your daughter is so beautiful! My daughter’s prom is next weekend. We picked up her dress on Saturday so now she’s really excited.

Our family also got one of those expensive speeding tickets this weekend – it was our 20 year old daughter. Since she has a job she can pay for it – an expensive lesson to learn.

Oops – he wasn’t as lucky as his dad was. He got stopped a couple of weeks ago in Charlotte after dropping friends off at the airport. The officer ran his record and since he is ticket free in NC, he told him he wouldn’t spoil his driving record! Nice guy! Torri looks great! Yall did a good job on the dress (and the make up). Hope she had fun. Prom for Harrison is next weekend … unfortunately, he now has mono. So, his prom plans may be a little sedate.

Such a nice looking couple! The boy is quite photogenic as well. Jeanne & Christine have their prom coming up on the 12th.

What is the book about and where did you hear about it? I always enjoy “talking books.” ;)

Would you believe we’ve never been to Blanco? That needs to be rectified immediately, don’t you think?

And, yes, Torri is a beauty (just like her mama).

I'm Darcie. I was a teen mom long before MTV made it the next big thing. In the 18 years that have passed since, I've gone on to build a life bold and beautiful here in Tucson, Arizona. Along the way, I bagged myself a rocket scientist hottie husband and penned a couple of books. In addition to being a minivan chauffeur, cupcakeaholic and wine sipper, I like to think of myself as a rebel with a lifestyle blog; my posts reflect on the ups and downs of life as a mother to four, including one daughter who rocks three 21st chromosomes (or has Down syndrome, in layman’s terms). My passions include handcrafted food, inspired travel and back-to-basics living. I'm pleased to make your acquaintance.
