Christmas at Disney in pictures

Having just returned home after five nights at Walt Disney World, I’m busy playing catch up with real life and its associated piles of laundry.  I did, however, want to share some instagram photos with you.  I was sans family on this trip–acting as a mentor during training weekend for the new members of the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.  Going it alone always gives me the chance to really slow down and take note of the details I might otherwise miss.  That is always a treat, but especially during Christmas.  Here are a few photos I snapped during the week.  Enjoy!

Heading into Disney's BoardWalk Inn on my first day

Disney's BoardWalk Inn Lobby

Pretty lit tree at Downtown Disney

One of my favorite views: France pavilion from the International Gateway entrance

The infamous Grand Marnier slushee--from the France pavilion

The Canada pavilion's holiday storyteller

My front-row view of Epcot's Candlelight Processional

Early morning photo shoot in Magic Kingdom

Dapper Dan's all dressed up for the holidays

Welcomed to a Senses spa tour with a glass of bubbly

My footwear choice for dinner out with the Moms - not theme park friendly!

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights colors the night sky

The grey stuff at the new Be Our Guest Restaurant - it really was delicious!

Cinderella Castle draped in icicles -- a beautiful sight!

It was an unforgettable weekend.  Truly.  I can’t wait for you to meet the new Walt Disney World Moms Panel Moms in January.  They’re an awesome group!  Until then, the alumni moms are happy to answer your vacation planning questions.  Visit us at www.DisneyWorldMoms.com

Looks like a fabulous trip. I’m going to Candlelight at Disneyland tomorrow. It gets me in the Christmas spirit every year. Still hoping they start a Disneyland Moms panel.

Did you know, Susan, that the Walt Disney World Moms Panel has two Disneyland specialists? Disneyland doesn’t have its own panel, but it does have moms that represent it on the WDW Moms panel. You should apply next year!

I kept looking for you as we walked around the parks! We just got back yesterday from our cruise and everyone loved our Hot Chocolate Mix-Ins! We had extras and passed them out to several crew members who went above and beyond for us, as well as our elementary school teachers, youth minister and the mail lady. Thanks so much for the great idea!

I think it’s best described as a cookies and cream mousse. In any case, it’s delicious. Don’t believe me? Ask the dishes ;)

P.S. I forgot to ask this afternoon. Did you hear anything about if Disney World will be hosting a Social Media Moms Celebration in 2013?

I'm Darcie. I was a teen mom long before MTV made it the next big thing. In the 18 years that have passed since, I've gone on to build a life bold and beautiful here in Tucson, Arizona. Along the way, I bagged myself a rocket scientist hottie husband and penned a couple of books. In addition to being a minivan chauffeur, cupcakeaholic and wine sipper, I like to think of myself as a rebel with a lifestyle blog; my posts reflect on the ups and downs of life as a mother to four, including one daughter who rocks three 21st chromosomes (or has Down syndrome, in layman’s terms). My passions include handcrafted food, inspired travel and back-to-basics living. I'm pleased to make your acquaintance.
